ITEMS FOR CHECKOUT

Items are available for College of Education students, faculty, and staff only! You must present a UW Student, Faculty or Staff ID to checkout equipment.

The Computer Lab in the College of Education has many items available for checkout. These items can be picked up in Room 24 on the ground floor of the Education Building. It is always a good idea to reserve the desired items before they are actually needed since numbers are limited and they may be unavailable at certain times.

Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. Don't assume!

VHS Video Cameras

There is a limit of 2 cameras and tripods that may be checked out at one time. These are not available for and extended checkout.

Digital Cameras

There are 10 other digital cameras that use SD memory cards, these can be checked out with a USB cable to downlod pictures to a computer. These are only available for one-day checkout.

Slide Projectors/ Carousels

There are 2 slide projectors, 3 carousels.

TV/VCR Combination

There are 2 21' television with a DVD/VHS that is on a movable cart and can be taken to any room in the building.

Tripods

There are several tripods that may be checked out with the vidoe cameras, digital video cameras, or on their own.

Teaching Stations: Computer, Monitor, LCD Projector

There are 2 teaching stations. These are laptop stations that can be used with either your own laptop or with a Windows or Macintosh computer that you can check out with the system.

There are also 12 projectors that may be taken out of the building.

LCD Projectors

There are 12 LCD projectors, designed for use with a laptop, that may be taken out of the building.

Digital Video Cameras

There are 18 Digital Video Cameras available. They are for one day checkout only. They use Hi-8 tapes or Mini-DV and can be plugged directly into the Macs to capture images and video clips.

Laptop Computers

There are 5 laptop computers available for checkout: 1 Windows Toshibas a swapable CD-ROM/ floppy disk drive., 2 Windows with a CD-ROM only drive, 5 Macintosh Powerbooks with DVD-RW/CD-RW drive and 1 MacBook that will boot in either Mac or Windows with a CD-RW/DVD drive.

Digital Video Editing Stations

There are 15 high-end digital video editing stations available for reservation in room 318. These are Intel iMacs (2006). They are equipped with iMovie and other multimedia software, Final Cut Express can be loaded on request.

There are 2 machines that will play either a VHS tape or a DVD that are available for checkout.
