Play therapy/EC institute set for July |
 |
The Wyoming Institute for Play Therapy and Early Childhood Leadership is July 10-11, 2009, on the University of Wyoming campus.
Institute sponsors are the Department of Counselor Education and the John P. "Jack" Ellbogen Foundation.
Renowned keynote speaker and facilitator is Beth Limberg, Ph.D., RPT-S, from Alliant University, Sacramento. Dr. Limberg offers a focus on providing direct care (developmental guidance, community resourcing, etc.) to high-risk families with infants and toddlers as well as pragmatic strategies for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment regarding infant-preschool mental health and attachment issues.
The Pre-Institute Workshop (July 8-9) features Dr. Heather Helm, registered play therapist from University of Northern Colorado, whose expertise and experience provide a solid foundation for participants to begin earning play therapy certification. Continuing education, PTSB and UW graduate credit will be available.
